BATTALION 1944 is going free to play on August 16th

The title is going to be re-released in a new revisited and final version soon.

Yesterday, the game makers announced the end of its relationship with Square Enix. As a result, the developers plan to release their shooter’s final edition under a new title, BATTALION: Legacy. It will take the best aspects of Battalion 1944 and focus on working towards making a bug-free experience. The new version is going to feature a working server browser, a new British faction, new weapons, and much more.

BATTALION: Legacy is set to launch on August 16th, 2022.

BATTALION 1944 is a multiplayer shooter set during World War 2. The game focuses primarily on 5v5 infantry combat, trying to recapture the core of classic competitive shooters and refining the classic FPS feel.

For the time being, you can still buy it on Steam. There is no telling thought if current owners of this title will receive any in-game goodies once BATTALION 1994 transitions to free-to-play.
