Guild Wars 2 is now free to play on Steam

You can now play one of the biggest MMORPGs on Steam with hundreds of thousands of other players!

It took a while for the title to make an appearance on the most popular PC platform, but it finally happened. Anyone can now enjoy Guild Wars 2 on Steam! The popular MMO’s entire base game content is free to play for all users. To join the fun, head over to this Steam store page, download GW2 and run it from the games library once it’s ready.

Those who will log in today can receive a “Life is Better with Friends” box. It contains five Teleport to Friend tokens and one Revive Orb! Additionally, everybody can claim Communal Boost Bonfire later this week. There are going to be a bunch of other Guild Wars 2 Gem Store giveaways through the end of August.

Guild Wars 2 Twitch Drops

During the tenth anniversary of Guild Wars 2, ArenaNet also launched the very first Twitch Drops campaign. From August 23 to August 28, watch any Twitch channel streaming Guild Wars 2 to get a set of gifts!

Before you start watching live streams, make sure to link your Twitch account with your game’s account. To do so, go to this ArenaNet Management Site, head to the linking section, and press “Connect” next to Twitch. Once it’s done, you are ready for the freebies!

Below you can see the complete list of Guild Wars 2 10th Anniversary Twitch Drops event rewards with the exact amount of time you have to spend watching the streams to get them:

  • 2x Heroic Booster (30 minutes)
  • Revive Orb (1 Hour)
  • Mini Baby Mount Container (2 Hours)
  • 10x Transmutation Charge (4 Hours)
  • Glowing Purple Mask (6 Hours)
  • Total Makeover Kit (8 Hours)
