Fortune’s Keep is the brand-new Resurgence-style Warzone map set to arrive in Season 4, but players are terrified that it’ll replace their beloved Rebirth Island. Here’s everything we know so far.
Rebirth Island has become a staple in Warzone since its introduction with Black Ops Cold War in 2020, offering a more fast-paced battle royale experience that many players now prefer. It received a major overhaul in Season 2 Reloaded, but it might not be around for much longer.
Fortune’s Keep, a brand-new Resurgence-style map is set to arrive with June 22’s Season 4 update. Players were furious at the idea of Rebirth Island being replaced, but signs point towards its removal.
Here’s everything we know about whether Fortune’s Keep will replace Rebirth Island.
Warzone Fortune’s Keep map teased in CoD blog
Call of Duty’s Season 3 Reloaded blog was the first sign that convinced players Warzone would be moving away from Rebirth Island. First, when detailing the Occupation Scan in-game event, the blog said it “should keep everyone even more alert on an island from which they may need to escape.”
Then, the blog post stated that mercenary forces were set to attack Rebirth, so “we must move ahead of them and deliver a coordinated first strike at their base before our tactical position in the Aral Sea is lost.” They concluded by stating players should “standby for details on extraction protocols and new assignments.”
With the blog confirming a new location and saying players need to “escape Rebirth Island,” many believe that Warzone will be moving away from Rebirth entirely and Fortune’s Keep will become the only Resurgence map.
Warzone Fortune’s Keep map leaks
A ton of leaks have also emerged surrounding Warzone’s Fortune Keep map, and they claim that Fortune’s Keep will replace Rebirth Island.
According to datamining from leaker Sebas, Rebirth Island will end with a playlist called “Rebirth Exfiltration Quads.” Another prominent leaker, TheGhostOfHope, said this playlist will see Rebirth Island get nuked similar to Verdansk back in 2021.
Warzone’s Trello board states that there will be a redacted game mode coming to Rebirth Island on June 20, so it’s likely that this is the playlist that ends Rebirth and introduces Fortune’s Keep.
Raven Software have previously explained that Warzone’s tech prevents them from having both Verdansk and Caldera at the same time, and it’s entirely possible that this is also the case for Rebirth and Fortune’s Keep.
Of course, these are all leaks and rumors for now, so there’s no guarantee that Rebirth Island will be gone forever. Raven will reveal Season 4 ahead of its June 22 release date, so we’ll need to wait until then for official confirmation.
